The Opportunity
The City of Reidsville, North Carolina is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead the city’s economic development program.
Reidsville is in the north-central part of the state within Rockingham County which is a border county with Virginia. Situated on future I-785, Reidsville is a community of 15,000 located between Greensboro, NC (the state’s third largest city) and Danville, Virginia.
The Economic Development Director position is part of the city management team and reports directly to the city manager. The director will be tasked with implementation of a recently adopted strategic plan involving multiple facets of economic and community development including downtown revitalization, community development initiatives, small business development, and industrial product development. The city director will work in partnership with other city departments as well as other public and private groups focused on advancing the economic competitiveness of the city.
The Position
The Economic Development Director will develop and present each annual budget, manage and implement day-to-day activities related to economic development opportunities, will have oversight of all aspects of new business recruitment, business retention and expansion, project management, site identification, management of grants/incentives, proposal development, client presentations, local government presentations, and post-recruitment support.
